The West Bengal Public Service Commission (PSC) has requested applications for 156 posts of the Veterinary Officer. These posts have to be applied online. The last date for the application is April 9, 2018. Reservation will be available only to native candidates of West Bengal. Additionally, it is necessary for candidates to write, read and speak in Bengali language.

Eligibility:

  • There should be a degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BV Sc and AH) or Veterinary Science from the accredited institution.
  • There should be a registration in the state or central government’s veterinary council.
  • There should be information about speaking or writing Bengali or Nepali language.

Pay Scale: Rs 15,600-42,000 (Grade Pay Rs 5,400)

Age limit: Minimum 18 and maximum age 36 years. Age will be calculated on the basis of 01-01-2018.

Application fee: Normal and OBC candidates have to pay a fixed fee of Rs 210 for the application. SC / ST candidates will not be charged any fee.
The application fee is with the option of paying online or through bank invoices.
Last dates for the same are  April 10 and 9th of  April respectively.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected on the basis of interview.
In case of more candidates, the Commission can shortlist for an interview on the basis of highest qualification. The commission can also hold written / screening test in case of more candidates. The exemption limit in the age limit will be given on the basis of the rules of the state government. Under this, five-year relaxation will be given to SC / ST candidates, whereas, the OBC candidates will be given a three years’ exemption.
