Aamir Khan, who turned 54 today, as part of his annual tradition, decided to celebrate his big day with media and his wife Kiran Rao.

As he blew off the candle on the cake, he smiled and more for the camera with his wife Rao. However, son Azad wasn’t there with them.

Aamir Khan on his Twitter-handle sent a special message for his fans in which he urged them to cast their vote in the upcoming elections.

Later during a small interactive session, Amir Khan spoke about the importance of Voting in a democracy.

“Since it’s the election year, I wish the people of India. The biggest democracy should go and vote. They should go and vote. They should all vote and make the elections a success,” the actor said.

As per ANI, when a media person asked if Khan will support BJP this election season, he said, “No, I don’t promote any political party.”

Speaking about one of the major issues that arise during the elections, Aamir requested election commission to make provision for people working and staying abroad to vote.

“There are a lot of people who live/work outside of India and wish to vote, but they can’t. Or many people who are unwell and can’t reach the ballot, the election commission should think of a solution for those people, as they deserve the opportunity. I don’t know what the solution is but we should think of them,” Aamir urged.

Polls to elect a new Lok Sabha will be held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19. Votes will be counted on May 23.

Especially addressing the first time voter during his message, Aamir asserted that they should think before finally casting their vote.

“I can’t tell people how or whom they should vote for, but I can tell to look for their cause. What is that one thing that matters to them the most and then if the person in their constituency matches that, please go ahead and vote,” he asserted.

Aamir’s remarks come a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested from media persons, sportsmen to actors and other politcicans on Twitter, to influence the young voters to come out in large numbers and vote in the upcoming general elections. The Dhoom 3 starrer was, too, tagged by PM Modi in these tweets.
