In 2007, Aamir Khan revealed in his directorial debut Taare Zameen Par that Abhishek Bachchan struggled with dyslexia as a child. He said, “Bachpan mein isko bhi padhne likhne mein takleef hoti thi. Lekin ab dekho, kya Dhoom macha raha hai!”

Abhishek turned 43 today, the now bona fide Bollywood star also an entrepreneur wasn’t let down by the learning disabilities he faced due to the disorder.

At the Mind Rocks India Today Youth Summit 2011 in Chennai, he revealed that he was diagnosed at the age of nine.

He said, “I was diagnosed with dyslexia at nine and sent to an European school, but only knew myself as a dyslexic after graduating.” And added, “It’s important to recognize the problem in the field of education and this indifference shown to slow learners should be stemmed.”
