There is no age restriction to do social work.

From this point of view, we all are very well aware that the future of our society is in the hands of our youth. While promoting individually, our youth need to increase the activism in social services.
Realizing the urgent need of Youth’s contribution to the overall development of society in today’s perspective, and also help the poor and needy, the Youth Towards Socialism was begun in our own city Bhopal.

In a selfish and ‘too cool to care’ world, Humanity and kindness is still alive in the hearts of the volunteers of ‘Youth Towards Socialism’. YTS welfare society is a group of youngsters fully energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated people coming from different fields like Chartered Accountants, Doctors , IT Professionals, Students doing various different courses and includes young entrepreneurs working together to make a difference in a society. The concerted efforts of this young organization to be able to help the needy are spread all over the city. Being active on Facebook, this organization has succeeded in connecting the younger generation with positive thinking through this organization.
The founder of this organization started it when he once saw a group of poor suffering from Malnutrition, eating a dead body of a dog. He then realised, that even after the government is providing food at cheapest price, people are still not able to afford it. He pledged to do something for those needies and that’s how it all started! He believes, ‘The young generation must show their participation in the progress of society, while imitating the values preserved by their parents. YTS welfare society started its very first event on 15 Aug 2013, whole India celebrates it as a Independence day but YTS added a special cause to stop abuse against old age people on the occasion of Elder Abuse Awareness Day with group of 30 youngsters and they marched in every corner of Bhopal to make people realize about the cause and help old age people living in old age home. And then journey for revolution begins…’ It has already completed almost 5 years now.

In this era of technology, it is a great way for all of us to stay connected on one platform through the Internet, which will facilitate reconciliation between each other and exchange of ideas. YTS knows it well, so all the volunteers are connected to each other through the page and spreading awareness through various social media platforms.

‘I have decided to bring change of my part in the society, what you are waiting for?’ says YTS member, Neelesh.

ORPHANAGES AND SHELTER HOMES/OLD AGE HOMES

Food Distribution
Hunger is a serious problem in India. So YTS group runs a program called SEVA KITCHEN” where YTS volunteer prepare food for needy and distribute. Also they collect the leftover food from parties and rather than wasting all the food, they distribute it among the poor.

Other than that, they campaign against animal abuse as they believe that animals are not ours to eat or wear.

Various social events and awareness camps on different issues which involves blood donation camps, voter awareness campaigns, Woman Equality, Police Reforms are also done by them.
Disha News talked with few of the active volunteers of YTS and asked about their experiences.
