Jammu: A heavy explosion occurred on Thursday morning at a bus stand in Jammu region. The injured were rushed to the Government Medical College for treatment.

The blast occurred at busy BC Road bus stand in Jammu, injuring 25 and killing 1.

Some are in very critical condition, in fact, as per a ANI report, one of the eye-witness gave a descriptive gory detail of the grenade blast.

The grenade went off under the bus, a news source reported.

“It was a grenade explosion, it has caused injuries to approximately 28 people. They have been all shifted to the hospital,” said MK Sinha, Inspector General of Police, Jammu while speaking to media personnel.

After inspecting the site of the blast, he said, “Seems like the grenade has been launched from outside. It possibly had rolled beneath a bus injuring many people.”

Prince Sharma, on of the eyewitness of the unfortunate bus stand blast said, “I had just parked my bike when I heard a loud sound. I went to the spot of the explosion and saw about a dozen people were badly injured.”

The injured have been taken to the Government Medical College for treatment.

On February 13, around 12 students were seriously injured in a blast at a school in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The blast occurred in a school at Narbal in the district.

The Indo-Pak tensions have not de-escalated ever since the Pulwama attack that killed a CRPF convoy, around 40 soldiers were killed in the suicide bomb attack. The terror-based outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad took responsibility for one of the deadliest terror attacks in the history.
