The army soldier, who was on holiday to visit his home in Qazipora Chadoora in Kashmir’s Budgam district was kidnapped by terrorists on Friday late evening.

The kidnapped soldier of the army’s Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) was kidnapped from his home in Qazipora Chadoora in Kashmir’s Budgam district.

The incident took place on Friday late evening and unknown gunmen are accused behind the attack.

The kidnapped soldier has been identified as Mohammad Yasin Bhat.

Police and army has launched a manhunt to trace and track the soldier.

Officials said that Bhat was at his home at Qazipora when some unidentified gunmen abducted him from his house. Soon after police came to know about abduction of the soldier, a joint police and army team was send to village and search operation was launched in the area.

Officials said that Bhat was on leave from Febuary 26 till March 30.

In June, an army soldier Aurangzeb of 44 Rashtriya Rifles posted in south Kashmir’s Shopian district was abducted by militants and his body was found 10 kilometers away from the spot where he was kidnapped. His body was riddled with many bullets.

Aurangzeb, a resident of Poonch in Jammu was on way to his home to celebrate Eid when militants abducted him.
