Rewa, (MP): Former President of Madhya Pradesh Assembly and Senior Congress leader Srinivas Tiwari (92) died on Friday (January 19th) at Escort Fortis Hospital, Gururgram, National Capital Region. Congress leaders have expressed deep sorrow over their demise. According to the state Congress office, Tiwari was ill for the past few days. He had been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa on Tuesday (January 16th) after having breathing problems. On Wednesday (January 17th), he was taken to the Escort Fortis Hospital in Gurgaum with an air ambulance, where he died in the afternoon of Friday (January 19th). Tiwari’s son Sunderlal Tiwari is currently a Congress MLA.

Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed deep sorrow over Tiwari’s demise and said it was irreparable damage to Congress. Scindia has said in his condolence message that Tiwari was a belligerent leader of a great stature. God has wished to give his family the ability to bear this trauma.

Was called ‘White Lion’ Srinivas Tewari
Expressing deep sorrow over the demise of Tiwari, leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Ajay Singh said that the state has lost the voice of a tough politician and the Vindhya region. He further said that Tiwari was a combative and crippled leader. With socialist ideology, he raised the voice of the common man with life-force vocabulary. He was a man of helpful nature and was called ‘white lion’ due to his strong nature.

Tiwari joined the Congress in 1973 at the behest of Indira Gandhi. In the year 1980, Ajin Singh became the Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare in the Cabinet. After being appointed as Chief Minister of the year 1993, Digvijay Singh, He was the Speaker for 10 consecutive years.
