Gurugram: There are protests in several states against the Padmavat film being released on Friday. After all the claims of police protection in Gururgam, protesters set off a bus on Sohna road. In view of the protest against the Padmavati film, the Bar and pubs of MG Road were closed from 7 pm onwards till further orders will be given.

On Wednesday, police conducted a protest against the controversial film ‘Padmavat’ and arrested nearly 20 activists of the Army. A leader of Rajput organization had earlier threatened that the workers would take the water samadhi in the Gangapur Dam, about ten kilometers away from the district headquarters. Nasik taluka police inspector Babasaheb Thombay said that they were detained after protesters gathered on Wednesday near Gangapur dam.

Ahmedabad: More than 50 arrested
At the same time, Gujarat cinema owners said on Wednesday that the film will not be shown in any multiplex or single screen cinema at the state till the dispute arising out of the film ‘Padmavat’. On the other hand, the police arrested 50 people in connection with the violence outside the mall on Tuesday night in Ahmedabad.

The Gujarat Multiplex Honors Association said that this decision was taken keeping in mind the viewer and property security. Targeting the government, Patidar leader Hardik Patel said that the government has failed to control violence. He questioned whether Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will resign on the present situation. He said that the BJP had forced the post of the Chief Minister Anandiben Patel to quit after the Patidar Reservation Movement violence.

Earlier, the police had said that protesters protesting the release of the film had burnt at least 30 motorcycles outside the three malls of Ahmedabad and damaged many other vehicles on Tuesday. The police said that around 15 leases were arrested late last night, while 35 more people were detained in connection with arson and rioting. Joint Commissioner of Police JK Bhatt said that to control the situation, the police used two bullets and tear gas shells in the air.
