Devghar. The demand for sugar free rice is increasing day by day. Due to low production, it is sold in the international market for five hundred rupees. A species named Kalanamak is rich with more than 40 nutrients, while the rice is free of sugar, hence it is returning to its day now. Sometimes it used to be famous for its fragrance. Sugar is now famous for free and nutritious properties. Central and state governments are making efforts to revive its production in other parts of the country, including Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand. Branding is also being renewed. In the last decade, it was in a state of evacuation.

Successful experiment in Jharkhand

Talking about Jharkhand, the interest of the farmers here has increased rapidly. In 2017 some efforts were initiated by this, which are now increasing their scope. Kalanamak Rice is being taken in hand with very nutritious and free sugar.

More production is being done in Jharkhand’s pond and shrine area. Here the organization called ‘Needs’ had inspired more than two thousand farmers for its production last year. About 200 acres were produced. 600 kg of seed yielded 12,000 kg. This series is now running.

Talking to buyers, exporting companies are also contacting farmers. Among them, Shree Shree Shri Ravi Shankar’s company, Shree Shree Science and Technology Trust Bengaluru is also included. Overall the farmers have hoped that Kalanmak will change their destiny.

Assist in fighting malnutrition

The Government of India has included Kalangamak Rice in the Nutrition Farm Scheme in 2013. It is helpful in fighting malnutrition. The government has considered it as one of the nutritious crops. One of the characteristics is that it has the ability to withstand more temperatures, so it is also better in terms of climate change.

This rice was famous all over the world during the British era because of a pleasant aroma. In some areas of eastern suburbs, it was once bumper yield. It has become extinct due to the use and neglect of chemical fertilizers.

Fragrance so amazing that you’ll forget Basmati 
Due to light salty taste and black husk, the name of this rice is known as Kalanamak. Its fragrance is such that you will forget the basmati rice. This is inauspicious. There is abundance of salts in it. Due to 40 types of minerals, it is also beneficial in liver and cardiovascular diseases. There is enough iron and zinc in it. While the normal paddy crop is ready in 130 days, its crop takes 140 days to prepare.
