Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture and Managing Director Tourism Board Sheo Shekhar Shukla said that the children of the state are the brand ambassadors of tourism.
Through tourism quiz competition, about 24 thousand students of around 8 thousand schools of the state have come to know about various aspects of tourism including historical and archaeological heritage, culture and natural beauty of the state.
Principal Secretary Shukla was addressing the conclusion of State Level Tourism Quiz Competition 2022 organized by Tourism Board at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Center.
Principal Secretary Shukla called upon every student participating in the competition to make 10 other children in their neighborhood aware and knowledgeable about tourism, history, culture and heritage of the state.
He said that in this way every child of the state would get more knowledge and sensitivity towards his state.
Principal Secretary Shukla said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given the vision of “Dekho Apna Madhya Pradesh” on the lines of “Dekho Apna Desh” initiative of the Central Tourism Ministry.
Taking this forward, the Tourism Department has organized a tourism quiz competition with the idea of “Boojho, Jaano aur Phir Dekho Madhya Pradesh”.
Principal Secretary Shukla encouraged the students to feel a sense of pride towards their state and their country. Simultaneously made aware about the use of social media and internet.
Mandsaur team won the State Level Tourism Quiz-2022. They defeated Bhind District in the final by a gap of 10 points.
A final round was held after both the teams scored equal points in the final, in which Mandsaur was the winner by giving the correct answer.
The team of Chhindwara was in third place. The team of Sidhi, Satna and Dindori became the runner up. Principal Secretary Shri Shukla, Commissioner Public Instruction Abhay Verma and Additional Managing Director Vivek Shrotriya gave certificates and medals to the winners and runners-up teams of the Tourist Corporation along with tour packages of hotels.
The first three winning teams Mandsaur, Bhind and Chhindwara were given free gift coupons for staying in the units of Tourism Corporation.
The last three runners-up teams Sidhi, Satna and Dindori were given food coupons from the unit of Tourism Development Corporation.
On this occasion a large number of students including the concerned officers and staff of the Department of Tourism and teachers of School Education were present.
52 teams that came out winning from the district level participated in the competition.
After inaugurating the competition in the morning by Collector Avinash Lavania, there was a written and then in the afternoon multimedia rounds were held, on the basis of which points were awarded.
This competition has been organized by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board in collaboration with School Education Tourism Development Corporation, District Administration and District Archaeology, Tourism and Culture Council. Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board organizes tourism quiz annually with the aim of creating awareness among the students about the tourist destinations of the state and to develop the learning process through tourism.
