For the academic year 2021-22, the AICTE has altered its academic schedule. According to an official notification, all AICTE-approved schools and universities have been advised to implement AICTE and University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines released from time to time in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Clear instructions have been issued to ensure that classes can begin in an online/offline (classroom) or mixed-format (online and offline) following the permitted pandemic guidelines.

“The Academic Calendar may modify according to pandemic conditions and directives issued by the Ministry of Health/ Ministry of Home/ Ministry of Education from time to time,” AICTE release. The AICTE has also advised that if colleges admit students without prior approval, they may face disciplinary action.

Key points from the AICTE calendar:

-Last date for approval to technical institutions: June 30, 2021

-Last date for Grant of affiliation by the University/Board: July 15, 2021

-Last date for completion of the 1st round of counseling, admission for allotment of seats: August 31, 2021

-Last date for commencement of classes for existing students: September 1, 2021

-Last date for Completion of 2nd round of counseling/admission for allotment of seats: September 9, 2021

-Last date for cancellation of seats for technical courses(full fee refund): September 10, 2021

-Last date up to which First-Year students can be admitted (remaining vacancies): September 15, 2021

-Last date for commencement of classes for 1st Year students: September 15, 2021

-Last date for lateral entry admission to Second Year courses for newly admitted students: September 20, 2021
