BL Santosh, the national general secretary (organisation) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), met with senior party leaders in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday as part of a two-day review of the party’s operations. The meeting is significant because the state will hold elections next year.

Santhosh met with deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma, as well as labour minister Swami Prasad Maurya, earlier in the day. Later in the day, he will meet with ministers of state.

“We will win 300 seats in 2022 polls,” Keshav Prasad Maurya said after the meeting.

Santhosh and Union minister Radha Mohan Singh met with ministers and key officials on Monday before meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for dinner at the latter’s official residence in Lucknow.

On Monday, he arrived at the BJP’s state headquarters in Lucknow. Swatantra Dev Singh, Uttar Pradesh BJP president, was joined by JPS Rathore and Govind Narayan Shukla, as well as minister Mahendra Singh.

Santhosh and state BJP leaders, according to Shukla, will review the helpdesk set up during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as other programmes, during their visit.
