As the spread of the second wave of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the country slows, several states have begun to relax the strict restrictions put in place to stem the infection’s spread.

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India reported 80,834 new Covid-19 cases and 3,303 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of infections in the country has risen to 29,439,989, with 370,384 deaths. The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the country has dropped to 10,26,159.

The following is a list of states that began unlocking on Monday:

1. Delhi: Beginning Monday, the Delhi government will relax lockdown restrictions even more, allowing malls, markets, and restaurants to reopen while schools, colleges, and other educational institutions remain closed.

2. Maharashtra: After the Covid-19 situation improved in the district in terms of positivity rate and oxygen bed occupancy, Maharashtra’s Palghar is now under level-II of the state’s unlock plan. The level-II easing of restrictions will take effect on Monday. Restaurants, shopping malls, and cinemas will be required to operate at 50% capacity at level II. On June 11, Pune was designated as a level 2 city.

3. Karnataka: BS Yediyurappa government allowed economic and other activities to begin in stages starting at 6 a.m. on June 14 and ending at 6 a.m. on June 21. Goods delivery to customers’ homes and e-commerce operations are now permitted. Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 2 p.m., street vendors, ration shops, standalone liquor shops and outlets (takeaway only), and optical shops will be permitted.

4. Tamil Nadu: Here lockdown is extended for another week, until 6 a.m. on June 21, but has also announced some changes that will take effect on Monday. TASMAC liquor outlets are allowed to operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in 27 districts, according to the unlock guidelines. Industries, on the other hand, are allowed to operate with a 33 percent workforce. The salons were also allowed to open with Covid-19 guidelines in place by the state government.
