As 8,602 new cases of Covid 19 were recorded in Maharashtra on Wednesday, in 10 districts the weekly positive rate remains higher than the State average of 4.36 percent. The positive rate is the number of positive tests from the total tests for a given infection.

These districts are: Nandurbar (11.72%), Kolhapur (9.85%), Sangli (9.20%), Satara (8.23%), Ratnagiri (7.91%), Pune (7.74%), Raigad (6.98%), Sindhudurg (5.94%), Aurangabad (5.10%) and Beed (4.64%).

Nevertheless, the state department of health has clarified, as on 11 July 212 cases increased the rate of positivity, that the position at Nandurbar was not bad.

Currently there are 106,764 active cases across the state, including 17,389 by Pune, and 16,096 by Thane. The state’s Covid case record now stands at 6,181,247, while the death toll now stands at 126,390, with Pune at 17,551 and Mumbai at 15,654.

On Wednesday we carried out 226,163 tests, with 6,067 recoveries.
