Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given instructions to all the district collectors of the state for timely implementation of the ongoing development works and schemes related to public welfare.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that despite the Model Code of Conduct for the election of Panchayat and urban bodies being in force, progress in works continues.

The operation of public welfare schemes has to be continued by following the provisions of the Code.

New announcement or new administrative approval should not be given, but the ongoing works should not be stopped.

Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the collectors and other officers of the state through video conference from Mantralaya today. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and other senior officers were present in the meeting.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that it is not proper to stop the implementation of already approved works and schemes in the state.

New approvals should not be given as per the Code. But it is necessary that the works of public interest should continue in the panchayat and urban body areas and we should also follow the model code of conduct.

The work which did not start till the announcement of election should not be started.

Similarly, foundation stone or inauguration of a public utility facility should not be done.

Even in the Kanya Vivah Yojana, the collectors themselves can ensure its implementation without a chief guest.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that monsoon has not started yet.

Due to heat, drinking water should be made available through available sources or transport in rural and urban body areas. There should be continuous water supply in the connections started under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Efforts should also be made for hand pump repairs and maintenance.

The other works started in the Jalabhishek campaign and targeted for June 2022 should be completed before the monsoon.

On June 22, the Prime Minister will review the progress of Amrit Sarovar. On the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the construction of Amrit Sarovars in the state should be continued.

It is necessary to continue the work with a view to make this lake an inspirational place of patriotism and a place of pilgrimage. The national flag will also be hoisted near these lakes on Independence Day and Republic Day.

Similarly, after completing the work of Pushkar Dharohar Samridhi Abhiyan, their documenting should also be done. In this campaign, the already operated activities should be continued so that the benefits of the repaired water structures can be taken for irrigation, fisheries, water chestnut production.
