According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India had 114,460 new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Sunday. In the last two months, there have been the fewest cases reported. The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded on April 5 was 96,982, with 1,15,736 new cases reported the next day.

With Sunday’s tally, the country’s total infection cases had risen to 28,809,339, and the death toll had risen to 346,759, after 2,677 people died in 24 hours as a result of the virus.

Since Saturday, the country has seen a drop in the number of new infections of over 6,000 and a drop in the death toll of over 700 as it recovers from the deadly second wave of the pandemic. The previous day’s total number of tests was 2,036,311 compared to Saturday’s 2,084,421.

For the 24th consecutive day, daily recoveries continue to outnumber daily new infections. Since the pandemic began in March of last year, nearly 27 million people in India have recovered from Covid-19.

According to the data, India has conducted over 36.4 crore tests in total.

Meanwhile, according to the data, India has vaccinated 23,13,22,417 people so far, with 33,53,539 people receiving their shots in the last 24 hours.
