Amul in respect of courage shown by IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman after losing his aircraft and getting captured into Pakistan custody, paid tribute to the hero on his return back to India.

Amul celebrated IAF Pilot’s return back to India.

Countrymen of India couldn’t contain the joy within on March 1, when Pakistan released Wg Cmdr Abhinandan Varthaman from custody and returned the hero back to its homeland.

In between an Indo-Pak aerial engagement with F-16, the Pakistan Air Force operated fighter jet and MiG-21 Bison, operated by Varthaman was lost in the air battle. The pilot underwent physical and mental stress after falling off from the parachute and have landed on Pakistan territory. He was also thrashed by angry mob on the borderside because of which he got the black patch on his right eye, fracture ribs and bruises.

In his debriefing, he als revealed the mental harassment he had to go through on the day of his release just for Pakistan’s old ways of maneuvering the world – broadcast a video of Indian Army man praising Pak army.

Tributes were poured from all across the country on several social media platforms, some burnt crackers whilst others were stood for long hours at Wagah-Attari border after hearing the news of Abhinandan’s release.

The dairy giant tweeted a clip as a part of the brand’s signature “Mooch Nahi Toh Kuch Nahi” campaign with the caption “#Amul Mooch: To Abhinandan from Amul!”

In the video, men from all walks of life were seen twirling their moustaches, in a reference to the moustache sported by Varthaman. It ended with a little girl drinking a glass of milk that left behind a creamy moustache.

Earlier, Amul had given a hero’s welcome to Varthaman in its signature cartoon.
