Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan lashed out at Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury over remark on President Droupadi Murmu saying ‘the nation will never forgive Congress for it’.

Earlier in the day both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned following protests by BJP MPs over Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s reported remark referring President Droupadi Murmu as ‘Rashtrapatni’.

Later Chowdhury talking the reporters defended saying he never intended to disrespect the President and I had mistakenly said ‘Rashtrapatni’ which was slip of tongue. The ruling party (BJP) is trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Chouhan said the President holds highest office in the country. The President does not belong to any political party, the President belongs to the whole country.

He said by saying so Chowdhury has sown his poor mindset and cheapness and he not only insulted the President but a woman comes from the tribal community and also insulted the women folk.

The attitude of Congress is against the tribal and women folk, he said.
Chouhan sought a reply from Congress leader Sonia Gandhi over this remark of Chowdhury.
