The University of Allahabad has declared a summer vacation beginning Tuesday, May 4 in response to an increase in active COVID-19 cases. During the summer break, the Allahabad University’s campus, associated schools, and departments will be closed for all students, faculties, employees, and other officers. As well, between May 4 and July 5, online classes will also be suspended.

The Allahabad University has announced a summer vacation till July 5th. The Allahabad University, its affiliated colleges as well as the departments, will be shut till 5th July. Previously, the University of Allahabad’s summer vacation was set to begin on May 15.

“Summer vacations of the university preponed. In an online meeting of the Vice-Chancellors with all the Deans, it was decided to prepone the summer vacations from the scheduled May 15. The rescheduled vacation will start from 4th and reopen on July 5, 2021.”  said the University of Allahabad on Twitter.

The University’s examination committee held a meeting yesterday to discuss the semester examinations’ situation due to COVID-19 curbs imposed in Uttar Pradesh. The meeting was chaired by the University’s Vice-Chancellor Rajiv Ranjan Tiwari.

The university recently announced changes in semester exam schedules and decided to promote students of  UG second-year students, and intermediate semesters of PG and professional studies, to higher classes and semesters.

“The students of the second year of undergraduate course and intermediate semester of postgraduate and professional courses will be promoted to the higher class or semester,” the university stated.

Depending on the current pandemic situation, UG first-year courses and PG or vocational final semester exams are decided to be conducted in July-August 2021.

“The exam committee also agreed that, depending on the then-current pandemic situation, undergraduate first-year courses and postgraduate or vocational final semester exams will be conducted in July-August 2021.”
