The Central Board of Secondary Education announced its strategy for evaluating Class 12 pupils on Thursday, which would be based on a mix of grades 10, 11, and pre-board examinations.

The theoretical paper assessment methodology is 30% weightage for Class 10 marks, 30% weightage for Class 11 marks, and 40% weightage for Class 12 marks acquired in unit test/mid-term/pre-board examinations, according to the policy.

According to the CBSE plan, for Class 10, 30% of the marks will be based on the average theoretical component of the best three performing courses out of the major five subjects.

Class 11 students will receive 30% of their final exam points based on the theoretical component, while Class 12 students will receive 40% of their final exam marks based on unit tests, mid-term examinations, and pre-board exams.

The CBSE said that “the marks of practical/internal evaluation of Class XII would be on the real basis as published by the school on the CBSE portal.” It further said that the total marks granted should be in accordance with the school’s previous performance in class XII board exams.

The Prime Minister’s Office declared on June 1 that the CBSE Class 12 exam will not be held this year because of the country’s pandemic crisis. Many state governors asked the Prime Minister to cancel the examinations since the country was in the midst of a pandemic and the majority of the population, including youngsters, had yet to receive vaccination injections.
