Growing Love for Non-Dairy aka Nice Creams

All the rage about them, they certainly have made a place in people’s heart and fridges too! Takers from all over the world and now, even India has accepted it with arms wide open.

‘Nice cream’, it’s an ice-cream that’s authentically made out of frozen fruits and plant-based milk. Also known as the cruelty-free or vegan ice-cream. When it first came as a recipe, it was a rigid masterpiece made out of only frozen bananas. Now, other fruits have joined the gang too.   

Easy-to-Make 

One that ditches of an ‘ice cream maker’ and all those expensive tools. It has offered sweet-tooths an endless variety that you can create with all-natural ingredients, it can easily be made in a food processor or blender. Frozen bananas being the core ingredient, chunks of your favorite fruit, any dairy-free milk and lastly salt to add an edge to it is all that’s required.   

Nice Cream because… 

In this serene age of extravaganza, we’re all yearning for guilt-free versions of our favorite dishes. Like conventional ice creams, these don’t last that long in the freezer. You should consume it within 4 days, but you anyway, won’t let it sit for long once you have a taste of it.

And recently, Fruktville expanded their business by launching more ice cream parlors in New Delhi and Gujarat. First company to introduce unique flavors like thandai pops, masala chai and tamarind chili. They serve popsicles, gelatos, shakes, waffles and brownies, too.

First vegan ice cream brand in India, this 5-year-old cruelty-free ice cream giant is expanding their business all over the country, recent being Dehradun-Haridwar Highway. White Cub is available in – Delhi, Bangalore, Rishikesh, Mumbai, Chennai and Noida (South Delhi) through retail stores like Hypercity, Big Basket, Godrej’s Nature Basket and Big Bazaar GenNext.

Hangyos Ice Cream

Under Prime Minister’s slogan “Made in India”, Hangyos the first Indian ice cream brand to be supported by Indian Government. Only a couple of days ago, the commercial production of their new range of vegan products began. The products will be available in Karnataka, Goa, Mumbai, Pune, Kerala (North), Hyderabad and Coimbatore.  

Simon Miranda, Vice-President says: 

“We have 2 flavors – Coconut and Choconut, both made of coconut milk, pulp and cocoa powder. Raw materials are supplied by Kerala Government and our manufacturing unit is based in Udupi, Karnataka. There are many functions and parties that want a vegan menu so, we’re planning to extend in more parts of the country. We experimented and have come up with new flavors like anjeer and cheeku.”
