Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the development site of the new parliament building in Delhi late tonight. PM Modi, clad in an exceedingly white kurta-churidar together with a security helmet, was seen inspecting the work-in-progress.
Several photos showed PM Modi doing the first-hand inspection of the development status of the building which is being built at an estimated cost of ₹ 971 crore. the development is anticipated to be completed by 2022.
He visited the location at around 8.45 pm and spent almost an hour at the positioning, reported press association ANI.

This was the primary visit by the Prime Minister to the new parliament lot, whose construction amid the pandemic have received lots of criticism from the opposition parties. The opposition parties say the project should be stopped to save lots of funds for management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The main Central Vista project envisages building a brand new Parliament House, a replacement residential complex to accommodate offices and therefore the Prime Minister and also the vice chairman. it’ll even have new office buildings and a Central Secretariat to accommodate various ministries’ offices.
Laying the inspiration stone for the new Parliament in December last year, the Prime Minister had said the new building will fulfill the country’s aspirations of the 21st Century while symbolising the “co-existence of the new and therefore the old”. “The (existing) building is now looking to retire. it’s incumbent upon all folks to grant 21st Century India a replacement Parliament building,” he had said.
