The post-mortem report of the teenage girl, whose body was discovered in Aligarh on Sunday, did not reveal any obvious signs of rape and found that she was strangled, the senior official said.

The Senior Police Superintendent (SSP) Muniraj G told media on Monday night that the police had gathered five people for questioning.

Earlier on Monday, when the body was brought for the last rites to the family, a large number of demonstrators gathered and blocked traffic on the main Agra road in the house of victims.

On Sunday, February 28, the body of a 16-year-old Dalit teenager who went to get fodder was discovered abandoned in the fields of wheat near her village. This is yet another horrendous act in Uttar Pradesh, in the face of dozens of such incidents, but so far it has not been part of major national news or television discussions.
