Students of more than 40,000 upper primary schools in Uttar Pradesh will learn self-defense technigues under the Mission Shakti program from March 1 to 31. Director General of School Education, Uttar Pradesh has given this information on Monday.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh is making every effort for the safety, respect and self-reliance of women and girls. For this, the mission Shakti program in the state is being increased rapidly. In this regard, Vijay Kiran Anand, Director General od School Education, Uttar Pradesh, said on Monday that students of more than 40,000 upper primary schools will learn self-defense techniques under the Mission Shakti program drom March 1 to 31. These classes will help the rural girl students to boost their confidence and self-esteem. IT is time for girls of classes 6 to 8 to roll up their sleeves and move on.

The Director General of School Education also said that the students will learn the technique of self defense very fast at this age. A certificate will also be given to the participants. He further said that the Education Department has 10,748 Physical Education Instructors and has been entrusted with the responsibility of training the girls students. The department has made a provision of Rs 3000 per school.In an order issued to all 75 districts of the state, Vijay kiran Anand said that the trainers will train their own school and nearby school. He said that the main objective of self-defense training is to make girls physically and mentally self-dependent.
