Sudden flooding in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, at least three people were killed and 30 others missing on Friday. Several villages were flooded after the dam burst in the Cheyru River. Swami Ananda’s temple in Nandalur also sank.

Heavy rains flooded Andhra Pradesh as the lowlands over the Bay of Bengal crossed the coast between Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh early Friday.

IMD predicts moderate rainfall in most locations, and strong to very heavy rainfall in remote locations on the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh and Railasima.

The great flood in Tirumala, the residence of Lord Venkateshwara, left hundreds of pilgrims on land. Four roads bordering the main temple in the hills of Tirumala are still flooded.

Many trees in the hills of Tirumala fell, and it resulted in road closures at Papavinasanam and Srivari Paadalu.

The NDRF and SDRF teams joined forces to carry out rescue and rescue operations. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a video conference with collectors from the rain area and urged them to step up rescue operations and relief efforts.
