New Delhi: If the Railway Review Committee considers the recommendation of the Rent Review Committee, like the air travel, the scheme of railway travel can be exempted from the rent in advance. Sources said that the committee handing their reports this week suggested to decide on the rate of rent on the basis of the number of vacant seats in any train. Officials said that, like the rental system of airlines, if you book the train ticket months ago, you can get huge discounts. The proposed discount from 20 to 50 percent will depend on the number of seats available at the time of booking.

High prices for lower seats
The committee also suggested that the way air travelers have to pay more for further seats, passengers will have to pay a higher price for the seats below. However officials said that these seats will be allocated for free to senior citizens, handicapped and pregnant women. Officials said that the committee also suggested that the fare should be increased for those trains that arrive at ‘convenient’ time like morning till the destination. Sources said that the Railway Board can make some changes before approving these recommendations.

Flat rental system will end!
It has also been said in the recommendation on behalf of the committee that while eliminating the system of flat rents, fare should be increased during festivals and reducing rent in the spare days. The committee has also recommended the relaxation of fares for the passengers. It has been suggested that those trains who arrive at the destination at odd times should be given a discount. For example, if a train reaches the destination from 12 to 4 in the morning and from 1 to 5 in the afternoon, its passengers should get a discount in the fares.

Income of more than 540 crores
The committee has also suggested to charge premiums in trains and pantry car facility trains overnight. Let us tell you that the Railways has made an income of more than Rs 540 crores from the Flexi Fair system in less than a year.
