Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the system of supervision and quality control should be strengthened for operation and maintenance of water supply schemes of Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam. Local public representatives should be involved in the implementation and monitoring of the scheme.
The Jan Abhiyan Parishad should also be involved in encouraging the participation of villagers in the implementation of Jal Nigam projects.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the 21st meeting of the Board of Directors of the Jal Nigam.
Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Ajit Kesari, Malay Srivastava, S.N. Mishra and other officers were present in the meeting held at Mantralaya.
In the meeting, approval was granted to share the construction cost of Talwada barrage on Mahi river and for construction of dam for intake well on Gond Devsar group water supply scheme in Singrauli district for source of water supply scheme for Ratlam and Dhar districts to the water resources department.
Chouhan said that it should be ensured that the employees engaged in outsourced system are not exploited.
In the meeting, approval was given to the proposal of 90 days maternity leave for women employees appointed on contract in the corporation. The proposal regarding training of interns of universities, colleges and institutions was also approved by the corporation.
