Social activist Anna Hazare, while targeting the government, on the situation of farmers in the country, said on Wednesday that the government thinks of industrialists like Ambani, Adani, not the farmer.

Addressing a meeting, Hazare said, “Today’s government thinks about industrialists like Ambani-Adani, not about the farmer. I have written a letter to the Prime Minister of India, which clearly states that the government is directly responsible for not getting the price of the crop for the farmers. He says that we belong to the country where 70 million people have committed suicides in the last 70 years.

Hazare said that after Narendra Modi came to power, he had talked about implementing the Lokpal Bill. At the same time, he had showed us the dream of corruption free India a reality. But this is just being promoted and nothing has been done. There is a lack of will in the government. He called upon the public that a massive agitation will be held in the Ramlila grounds of Delhi on March 23 in which people from all over the country will be involved.

He said, ‘whenever we have agitated against the governments. Then we were put in jail. After this the government fell. In Maharashtra, we have dropped the government twice. The Congress government of the country fell down from our agitation. ‘ He said that his purpose is to get the benefit of the common people, farmers get the benefit of their crop. Anna took a dig at the government and the leaders and said that money is the work of leaders, making money from power. The situation of farmers in India is like a monkey and a ‘Madaari’. Why farmers are not getting the price for their crops?
