Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has instructed the officials that there should be no drinking water crisis anywhere. Quick arrangements should be made. Non-functioning tap water schemes should be started immediately and poor hand pump should be improved. Chauhan was reviewing the Public Health Department here today. On this occasion, the Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Gopal Bhargava, Chief Secretary Shri B.P. Singh was also present.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that where there is no source of water, there is a problem of drinking water. Put the hand pump or other necessary measures immediately. He said that the work quality should be complete. He said that by looking at the requirements of the water sector by the Water Corporation, the schemes should be applied so that the drinking water could be made available to the entire village.
During this, it was informed that 5 lakh 38 thousand handpumps and 15 thousand 501 tap water schemes were operated in the state. By the “Gram Nal-Jal Yojana”, 4 thousand 899 successful water sources have been created. Due to the summer season, adequate pipes and other essential materials have been provided everywhere. Amendments were approved in the meeting of the Water Corporation’s tender documents in the meeting. 7 new schemes have been approved by the Water Corporation. Apart from these, 12 schemes have been completed and 22 schemes are in progress, from which 1910 villages will be benifitted.
