Davos: During the address at the inaugural function of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Prime Minister Narendra Modi first thanked the President of the Swiss Federation and other world leaders present there. PM Modi said that thanks to the warm welcome to the Government of Switzerland and its citizens here. PM Modi said that the visit of Prime Minister of India was done in 1997, when former Prime Minister Devgowda had come. Then India’s GDP was close to $ 4 million. Now it’s almost 6 times more than two decades later. At that time the slogan of this forum was Building the Network Society. Today, we are living in the era of Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, not just the Network Society. Today, after two decades, our society is tied to a complex network, at that time Davos was ahead of his time and even today he is ahead. This year its theme is  ‘Creating A Shared World’.

He said that there was no euro currency in 1997. At that time there was no hope of breakage. At that time very few people had heard Osama bin Laden and Harry Potter. Chess players were not at risk of losing to the computer at the time. At that time Google was not invented. At that time if you find the name of the Amazon on the net then get the names of rivers and birds. Tipping at that time was the task of the birds. From this point of view, in that era, Davos was ahead of his time and is still ahead today.

PM Modi said that the data is a huge asset today. Today a huge amount of data are becoming mountainous. There is a competition of control over it. Today it is being said that the data that will control itself, will maintain its power in the world. Today, increasingly changing technologies and destructive tasks are already becoming more serious.

He said that peace, stability protection still remains a serious challenge. At present, we have many such questions that demand an answer for humanity and the whole generation. What are these powers, which prefers separation on co-ordination? What are the means and the paths through which we can eradicate the cracks and distances and fulfill the dream of one and the future future.

He said that, as a representative of India, Indianism and India’s heritage, the subject of this forum for me is contemporary, also it is contemporary. Over time, because in India since eternity we have come to believe in connecting human, not to break it, not to divide it. Thousands of years ago, it has been written in Sanskrit that Indian thinkers have said that Vasudhaiva Katumbakam means that the whole world is a family. So we all are like a family. A common thread in our destiny connects us. Vasudhaiva Family is meaningful and relevant to eradicate distances today.

But today there is one reason that there is no compromise to get out of this difficult situation. Even in the family where there is harmony and harmony on one hand. He said that the expanses of the challenges I am pointing towards the friends are very extensive. I want to mention the three main challenges here. Which is posing a threat to human civilization.

He referred to climate change as the first threat to the world. He said that the climate change is getting faster, the islands are sunk, the impact of very hot and very cold, heavy rain and very dry day is increasing day by day. The snow in Davos has happened 20 years later. Arctic ice is melting.

As the second threat, PM Modi described terrorism as a big threat. He said terrorism is a major threat, but there is a greater danger that people also define terrorism as good terrorism and bad terrorism. In the Indian tradition, about thousands of years ago, in our scriptures, man was told about deeper synergy with nature that land mother, patro is important, that is, we are the children of this earth.

He said that democracy is not only a political system but a lifestyle. We Indians understand that the importance of different dimensions and resolutions of diversity is important. Democracy in India also decides a road map for the dreams, aspirations and their development of 100 million people. Crores of voters in India gave the absolute majority to any one party in 2014. We have resolved not to develop any class or limited development, but to develop them all. Our government has motto – with everyone, everyone’s development. Our plan and policy are inclusive. We have an inclusive philosophy in our everything.

He said that we Indians are proud of our democracy and diversity. For religious, cultural, linguistic and a variety of diversity, democracy is not just a political system but a system of lifestyle.

PM Modi said that for the first time in the history of 70 years of Independent India, it has been implemented in the country as an integrated tax system. We are using technology to increase transparency and accountability.

PM Modi said that despite being a developing country, we are helping the world. We do not exploit the natural resources of any country, but together with them develop them according to their needs. He also said that it is important to follow international law.

PM Modi has expressed the desire of the welfare of all the countries of the world, giving the example of Sanskrit verses PM Modi said that let’s get rid of world’s cracks and unnecessary walls. India has considered the entire world as a family.
At the end of the speech PM Modi, He urged global leaders to come to India. He said that if you want peace with prosperity, then you are welcomed to India.

Before the PM Modi’s speech, the President of Switzerland Federation welcomed the representatives of all countries participating in PM Modi and the World Economic Forum in his address. He said that we are facing all the challenges in the Geo-political forces. In his address, he mentioned many issues including climate change and terrorism.
