The Delhi High Court dismissed actress and environmentalist Juhi Chawla’s plea against India’s ‘untested’ 5G communications technology adoption on Friday, fining all petitioners Rs 20 lakh for ‘abusing the legal process.’

In his case, Chawla urged that the potential effects of 5G waves on humans and other living species be investigated. It asks the relevant government to certify that 5G technology is safe for people and other living species, such as animals and birds, not just now but in the future.

Juhi Chawla had shared the link to the virtual hearing on social media, according to the court, and the petition was submitted as a “effort to acquire notoriety.”

On Wednesday, a guy entered the courtroom and began singing songs from Chawla’s films, interrupting the proceedings. The court stated that individuals who caused the interruption will face consequences.

The actress’ complaint also lacked a solid foundation, according to the court, and was loaded with “unnecessary, scandalous, and vexatious claims.” According to the court, she should have written to the government about the matter first to prevent needless litigation.

“The stand of the plaintiff is in utter disregard to the court fee law. One week’s time is given to rectify court fees,” the bench said.

Meanwhile, Juhi Chawla has stated that her goal is not to prohibit 5G technology from being used in India.

“There appears to be a widespread misperception that our current Delhi High Court lawsuit is against 5G technology. We want to be clear that we are not opposed to 5G technology. However, we are asking the government and regulatory agencies to certify to us, and hence to the general public, that 5G technology is safe for humans and all living organisms “she stated

She remarked that she is merely requesting that the relevant authorities “present me the facts” so that prompt action to preserve mankind and the environment can be implemented.

Chawla has been fighting a battle against radiation consistently since 2010.
