The Odisha government has established an e-Lectures facility for UG students in the state. With physical mode, the teaching-learning facility has taken a backseat during pandemic across the country.

The dedicated e-Lectures webpage, https://vtputkal.odisha.gov.in, was launched on Thursday by Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo. The project was supported by the Odisha government through the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA).

Teachers have recorded and uploaded lectures on a variety of subjects to the e-Lectures portal. Students can watch videos on a variety of disciplines at any time.

The Higher Education Minister mentioned that the e-Lectures facility will not only benefit professors, it will also serve as a supplement for students. It will allow them to experience classroom lectures.

The e-Lectures will be applicable across Odisha, and students and others will be able to learn and download study materials/videos through a dedicated portal. According to official sources, e-Lectures on 11 core papers (subjects) for Under Graduate (UG) students have been prepared, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology, Botany, Odia, English, History, and Economics.

“The recording of the lectures for the first and second semester has been completed and uploaded on the portal. There are plans to record lecturers for courses of 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th semesters at the earliest,” said Sahoo. He further said that the recording of lecturers was done by experienced teachers. It will help students learn each subject more easily.

There is an option for downloading the videos which can be used by the students. This would be helpful if students have some internet issues.
