Under the Department of Horticulture and Food Processing, an advisory committee has been constituted to set up a new food processing institute so that farmers get proper price for their produce. Additional Chief Secretary Horticulture and Food Processing has been made the chairman of the committee.
The officials from Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia, Agricultural University Gwalior, Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University Jabalpur, Rajiv Gandhi Technological University Bhopal including Principal Secretary Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment, Principal Secretary Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Principal Secretary Farmers-Welfare and Agriculture Development in the committee nominated representative of the expert has been made member and Director Horticulture and Food Processing has been made member secretary.
The advisory committee will submit a report regarding the starting of the institute. Food Processing Institute will be established as a main role in the field of self-reliance and investment in the coming years.
