Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation paid tribute to Britain’s Prince Philip following his death on Friday, as curiosity grows about their intentions to attend his funeral.

Prince Philip, the longest-serving royal consort in British history and a frequent figure at Queen Elizabeth II’s side for decades, died Friday at the age of 99, according to Buckingham Palace.
The death of the Duke of Edinburgh is a devastating blow to the 94-year-old queen, who once described him as her “power and stay all these years.”

As the queen’s husband, the outspoken retired naval commander dedicated much of his time to humanitarian work – but he was infamous for frequent gaffes, many of which were considered insulting.

The foundation modified the archewell.com website so that it only showed a single message and had no drop-down menus or access to other sites
The message read, “In Loving Memory of His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh, 1921-2021,” in white on a black sky.

Philip, the longest-serving royal consort in British history, died peacefully in the morning at Windsor Castle, west of London, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.

The pair, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, now resides in Los Angeles after deciding to retire from front-line royal duties earlier this year.
They have not officially stated whether or not they will attend the funeral. If they do, it will be their first visit to the UK since their fiery interview with Oprah Winfrey last month.
During the two-hour interview, which was watched by more than 17 million viewers in the United States and more than 11 million in the United Kingdom, Harry and Meghan said bigotry played a role in their decision to leave the United Kingdom for North America.
According to the pair, a senior royal predicted how dark their child’s skin would be before he was conceived. Megahan has black ancestry.

Prince Harry is known to get along well with his grandparents. He told talk show host James Corden earlier this year that he had Zoomed with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip before coming to America so they could see their great-grandson Archie.
