Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan garlanded the statue of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar at the Board Office Square on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas.

Paying tribute to Baba Saheb, Chief Minister Chouhan said that our government is building the India of Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s dreams under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Constitution given by him is our guide.

The work to fulfill his resolve of becoming educated and welfare of the last man of the society is being done under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Madhya Pradesh government is also committed to fulfill this goal. On this occasion, Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai, MLA Krishna Gaur, Khajuraho MP Vishnudatt Sharma and State Organization General Secretary Hitanand Sharma were present.

Earlier Chouhan paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Divas. He garlanded his portrait and paid tributes in the auditorium located at his residence office.

Dr. Ambedkar was a jurist, economist, politician and social reformer.

He campaigned against social discrimination and supported the rights of workers, farmers and women.

He was the father of the Indian Constitution, the first Law and Justice Minister of independent India and one of the founding fathers of the Republic of India. Dr. Ambedkar had said – “Untouchability is worse than slavery.”

He was posthumously awarded Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour in 1990. Dr. Ambedkar died on 6 December 1956 in Delhi.
