Kangana Ranaut revealed today that she tested positive for COVID-19. The actress, who was recently permanently removed from Twitter for hate speech, dismissed the virus that has ravaged the world. “It’s nothing more than passing flu that got way too much attention,” Kangana Ranaut wrote on social media. Don’t grant the virus control over you, the actress said, a little tone-deafly.

Over 4,000 COVID deaths have been recorded in India in the last 24 hours, with over 4 lakh new infections, as the country battles a vicious second wave exacerbated by a lack of oxygen, hospital beds, and vaccinations.

Kangana Ranaut clarified in her post that she felt exhausted and frail and had to get herself checked to return to her hometown in Himachal Pradesh. “I had no idea this virus was having a party in my body, now that I do I’m going to kill it,” she said.

Kangana Ranaut was recently permanently removed from Twitter after a series of tweets about the West Bengal election results. She has previously been mocked for tweets on the oxygen crisis.
Kangana Ranaut’s next film, the Jayalalithaa biopic Thalaivi, was recently postponed due to an increase in COVID-19 infections.

The film industry has been severely impacted by the second wave, with Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and other celebrities recently being infected. About 40 members of Akshay’s Ram Setu crew tested positive. Shilpa Shetty revealed on Friday that her husband, two daughters, mother, and in-laws, and two staff members are infected with the Coronavirus.
