For the first time in the history of Madhya Pradesh, the Katni district administration takes lead to other district administration big taking action against 420 private schools for not furnishing desired info include fees structure, general info, audited balance sheet for three previous years on their portal.

On the instructions of District Collector Avi Prasad, a show cause notice has been issued to institute an inquiry into 420 private schools of the district for not following the rules and regulation as per (मध्यप्रदेश निजी विद्यालय फीस तथा संबंधित नियमों) and other norms.

The details of fee structure, general information of the school have not been uploaded in the website portal by these private schools.

In the meeting of the District Committee held on Friday, it was decided to take action against such schools.

In the show cause notice issued to the private schools, the District Education Officer, on behalf of the District Committee formed under the chairmanship of District Collector Prasad, has asked the private schools to submit clarification within a week.

Otherwise, unilateral legal action will be taken. After discussion in the previously held District Committee meeting, private schools were given time till March 30 by the DEO to enter and upload the desired information. But 420 private schools did not upload the information and fee structure details in the portal on time.

Under the rules, schools were required to maintain and update general school information on the portal. Besides, information about class-wise and cadre-wise fee structure fixed for the academic session by all private schools was also to be uploaded on the portal. Apart from this, details of audited accounts, balance sheet, receipt and payment sheets, income-expenditure schedule etc. of the last three years were also to be entered and uploaded in the website and portal but it was not done.

District Administration serves notices to 420 private schools

A show cause notice has been issued to private schools to institute an inquiry into 420 private schools in the district that are not following the Madhya Pradesh private school rules (मध्यप्रदेश निजी विद्यालय नियमों) and not making entries in the portal, this includes 164 private schools of development block Katni, 31 private schools of development block Rithi, 68 private schools of development block Badwara, 56 private schools of development block Vijayraghavgarh, 61 private schools of development block Bahoriband and 40 private schools of development block Dhemarkheda.

Only 4 schools entered fees structure and general information on their portal

Among the four non-government schools which have registered their entry in the portal, only Kymore Middle School Kymore, Chicago Public Higher Secondary School Katni and Diamond Higher Secondary School Katni and Kymore Higher Secondary School Katni have entered the portal.

Entry of fees structure on the portal was to be done by March 30

In compliance with the decision taken under the Madhya Pradesh Niji fees tatha Sambandhit Niyamo (मध्यप्रदेश निजी विद्यालय फीस तथा संबंधित नियमों) and other rules and regulations in the previously held meeting of the District Committee under the chairmanship of Collector Avi Prasad, in this regard the District Education Officer wrote a letter to all the private schools on March 22, asking the schools to disclose the general information and fees structure on their portal till March 30, but only four private schools uploaded it while the remaining 420 private schools did not make the desired entry in their portal.

Additional provision

The District Committee had directed private schools to open a bank account as per rules, in which fees will be deposited in the private school. At the time of admission, the private schools have to inform the students and parents bank account details and fee deposit process information on the school’s notice board and official website. Many private schools did not follow this either.

District Education Officer P.P. Singh, District Treasury Officer Arvind Singh Thakur and Assistant Director Education Rajesh Agrahari were present in the meeting of the District Committee.
