Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh while speaking against the Modi government about economy, terrorism, defense and foreign policy, said that the BJP government has split the economy of the country and betrayed Indians by making us dream of getting 200 million jobs and doubling the income of the farmers in India.

While addressing the 84th session of the Congress, he accused the BJP-led government of “not handling the J & K dispute” and said that the government’s “two-and-a-half-year war talk” is another hollow promise. The former prime minister ranged from foreign policy to various issues, including defense and economy, and during his address, the entire program was buzzing with applause. The party leaders stood and respected Singh’s speech.

Manmohan Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised 200 million jobs to the people of the country, but two lakh people did not get a job. Singh said that only about 1 in the country’s GDP 6 percent of the cost is spent on defense sector. He said that this is not a way to tackle it for the challenges related to security. He alleged that there are many issues of foreign policy that the Modi government is not able to handle properly. He said, “We should also accept that the Modi government has handled the problem of corruption in a poor manner as never before.”

He said that there are two branches of government in the state and the two are working against each other and the atmosphere is becoming worse day by day. Singh said that the matter of cross-border terrorism or internal terrorism i.e. internal insurgency, our safety is at stake. Today there are issues that are a cause of great concern for our citizens. He said that Modi government probably feels that these issues will be solved by itself. It is not going to happen.
