The Special Court, Vyapam Cases, Indore (Madhya Pradesh) has sentenced Vinay Kumar (Impersonator) to undergo seven years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.10,000 in a case related to impersonation in PMT-2004 Examination.

CBI had registered the instant case in compliance of the orders dated 09.07.2015 & 11.09.2015 of Supreme Court.

The case was earlier registered at Police Station Kotwali, Khandwa (MP) on 12.06.2004 vide Crime No.343/2004 against three accused including Candidate, Middleman and Impersonator on the allegations of impersonation in PMT-2004 Examination conducted by Vyapam.

The instant case was taken over by CBI for prosecution only.

During the course of trial, Vinay Kumar fled from the Judicial process and a NBW was issued against him on 20.04.2015 by the Court. Vinay Kumar was arrested on 21.02.2018 by CBI.

Earlier, the Trial Court passed the Judgement on 13.08.2015 holding the Candidate guilty and acquitted the Middleman. However, the judgement was not pronounced against Vinay Kumar (Impersonator) as he was absconding in the case.
