The residents of were shifted to the safer places after Damoh district’s Pondi (Jaitgarh) reservoir damage.

Precautionary measures and arrangements were made immediately after the district administration spotted possible threat to life might due to damage in the reservior, due to which no human or animal was harmed, the condition is normal. A team headed by Director Security has been sent for site inspection.

This reservoir was constructed in the year 2008.

On July 24, efforts were made to stop the piping by filling earthen bags due to full filling of the reservoir and one feet water flow from the waste weir. Even after this, the reservoir got damaged at 5 am on 25 July.

Due to the damage of the reservoir, about 12-13 houses along the drain in the down stream were flooded and crops of about 20 hectares have been damaged.
