The MP Police has registered an FIR against Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) leader Medha Patkar and 11 others on a complaint by a villager alleging the using funds for political and anti-national agenda was collected in name of developing educational facilities for tribal students.

The FIR was registered at the Barwani police station on Saturday on the complaint of one Pritamraj Badole, a resident of Temla Bujurg village in Barwani district.

The complainant has alleged the Narmada Navnirman Abhiyan (NNA) a trust received over Rs 13 crore from various sources in last 14 years for developing the education facilities for tribal students but was reportedly diverted for a political and anti-national agenda which the need to be probed.

The other persons against whom the complaint is registered including Ashish Mandloi, Mohan Patidar, Noorji Padvi , Parveen Rumi Jahangir, Sanjay Joshi, Vijaya Chouhan, Keshav Vasave, Kailash Awasya,  Kewal Singh Vasave and Sunit SR.

However Medha Patkar has denied of doing so claiming allegations are baseless and politically motivated. She said the expenditure of the funds was done properly and the documentary evidence is there.
