The Madhya Pradesh High Court has served notice on former minister Jaivardhan Singh on a petition demanding to implead his name in a criminal case registered in Vijapur police station of Guna district.

The petition is filed by Vishambharlal Arora a contractor of Haryana in the High Court after a court in Guna district on February 1, 2023 rejected his application to include name of former Minister Jaivardhan Singh in the criminal case, the petitioner’s counsel Rajendra Mishra said.

A single judge bench of Justice Sanjay Dwivedi issued the notice during hearing of the petition, the court order of August 21, 2023 said.

The incident occurred on September 19, 2023 outside at the Vasundhara Guest House at Guna where the petitioner was beaten up by some goons and allegedly Jaivardhan Singh threatened him, Mishra said.

The police registered the complaint of Arora under sections 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC, the counsel said.
