The Department of Higher Secondary Education in Odisha has decided to adopt a new attendance module. This will track students’ daily attendance in classes 11 and 12.

According to a letter from the department, the new attendance module will be introduced with effect from July 26, 2021. In the HSS e-Space, it will gather the daily attendance of Class 11 and 12 students.

Bhagirathi Kandi, Office in Charge of the Program Management Unit (PMU), Student Academic Management System (SAMS), has asked all Higher Secondary Schools in the State to upload stream-wise student attendance daily by 4 p.m.

Kandi has shared the specific measures that must be followed for the Higher Secondary Schools to update their daily attendance. To update student attendance, school officials must log into the HSS e-Space and select “Daily Attendance- under QMT.”

“You are therefore requested to upload the stream-wise student’s attendance daily by 4 PM positively for onward transmission to Government. A report in this regard will also be generated at DHSE (O) level for compilation purpose,” the letter said.

The department has directed the school principals to treat the matter as ‘Most Urgent’. “Any deviation in this regard will be viewed seriously,” it added.
