New Delhi, PTI. National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against 12 people in Patiala House Court for alleged funding for promoting terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. It includes the names of Lashkar-e-Taiba leaders Hafiz Saeed and Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a charge sheet of 1,279 pages in the court and sought permission to continue its investigation. The judicial custody of 10 people arrested in the case ended today. In the unlawful activities (Prevention) Act, the prosecution has to file chargesheet within 6 months under anti-terror law. On failing to do so, the accused becomes eligible for bail.

NIA officials said that during the investigation, they gathered enough material and technical evidence. They said that 60 places were raided and 950 documents were seized. There are 300 witnesses in this case. In the Terror funding case, the moderator of the Hurriyat separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s son-in-law Altaf Ahmed Shah alias Altaf Funtoosh, moderate Hurriyat Conference spokesman Shahid Ul Islam, Hurriyat’s Gilani leader Daljeet spokesman Ayaz Akbar and separatists Nayeem Khan, Bashir Bhat alias Pire Saifullah and Raja Mehrauddin Kalawal were arrested.

In this case, the ANI also arrested the famous businessman Zahoor Ahmed Vatali. Vitali was lodged in Hijbul Mujahideen’s terrorist violence after the assassination of Burhan Wani. Former JKLF terrorists Bitta Karate, photo journalist Kamran Yusuf and Javed Ahmad Bhatt are also included in the chargesheet.
