The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would begin a tailored crash course session for Covid -19 frontline workers through video conferencing on Friday.

According to the PMO, the initiative will begin at 111 training centres across 26 states.

The ‘Customized Crash Course programme for Covid -19 Frontline employees’ will be launched by Prime Minister Modi through video conferencing on June 18 at 11 a.m., according to the statement.

Following the launch, the prime minister will deliver a speech. On the occasion, the Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will also be present.

According to the PMO, the programme seeks to train and upskill around one lakh “Covid fighters” across the country.

Over one lakh Covid fighters will be skilled and upskilled as part of the initiative. Covid fighters will get training in six different employment roles: Home Care Support, Basic Care Support, Advanced Care Support, Emergency Care Support, Sample Collection Support, and Medical Equipment Support, to name a few.

The scheme is a special project under the Central Component of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0, with a total budget of Rs. 276 crore. The programme will train qualified non-medical healthcare employees to meet the health sector’s current and future personnel demands.

They will get training in six different employment roles: home care assistance, basic care assistance, advanced care assistance, emergency care assistance, sample collection assistance, and medical equipment assistance.

The initiative was created as a unique component of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0, with a total cash investment of Rs. 276 crore, according to the PMO.

According to the initiative, trained non-medical healthcare employees will be created to meet the current and future personnel demands in the health sector.
