Congress state president and ex-Cm Kamal Nath talking to local reporters said they have offered Rs.1 crore to a Congress MLA for vote in the presidential election.

Congress MLA and former minister Umang Sinhgar reportedly said he has received offer from them through their district president of giving Rs. 1 crore /  Rs. 50 lakh. He said what the BJP wants about this prestigious presidential election.

Reacting to the Congress’s allegation, State Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra said Kamal Nath ji is making baseless allegations of horse trading is distressed with the infight within. By making such allegations Kamal Nath ji is saying about trading of own MLAs and is questioning his leadership ability.

The presidential polls is scheduled for July 18 next.

Meanwhile joint opposition candidate for Presidential election a former union minister Yashwant Singh was in Bhopal sought a probe into alleged BJP horse trading in presidential elections. He claimed the BJP was running ‘operation kamal’ even in the presidential polls.  

He had meeting with the Congress MLAs and urge to vote for him.

Speaking to the local reporters he expressed he was shocked to read news about the BJP is eyeing vote of 26 tribal Congress MLA’s vote.

Even I have heard about money is offered to non-BJP MLAs for vote to the party candidate in the presidential polls, he said.

He has taken up the matter with the EC and the secretary general of Rajya Sabha for probe.
