When India Women faced England Women in the maiden ODI in Bristol on Sunday, Shafali Verma became the youngest Indian cricketer to play in all three formats. The powerful opener made her T20I debut in 2019 and played her first Test against England Women earlier this month. She is the sixth youngest player to make her debut in all three versions of the game, and the third youngest among women, at 17 years and 150 days.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman of Afghanistan, who is 17 years and 78 days old, is the youngest cricketer to make his debut in all forms, followed by Sarah Taylor of the England women’s squad. Ellyse Perry, an Australian women’s all-rounder, is ranked third on the list.

Shafali Verma was handed her cap by ODI captain Mithali Raj ahead of the match in Bristol.

Shafali Verma struck three boundaries in her ODI debut, making 15 from 14 deliveries before being caught at mid-on.

While she was bowled out for a duck in her T20I debut, she had a fantastic Test debut, being the youngest woman to score two half-centuries in her maiden match.

She is third in the list of most runs on debut in women’s Tests, with scores of 96 and 63.

In T20Is, she has established herself as a key member of the Indian team. She has 617 runs at a strike rate of 148.31 in 22 matches, with three half-centuries to her credit.
