Forest Minister Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah inspected the fire-affected houses in Suhagi village of Khalwa block of Khandwa district and consoled them today. 

The Forest Minister said that in this hour of disaster, the state government stands with the affected and will extend all possible cooperation. 

The Forest Minister said that those whose houses have been burnt will be given new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He directed that the construction work should start in 15 days.

Forest Minister Dr. Shah announced Rs 5,000 to each affected family and 20 bats and 50 bamboos free of cost for cooking utensils on his behalf as an immediate help. Each affected family has been given two mattresses, quilts, 25 kg wheat and 25 kg rice and clothes by the government.

Forest Minister Dr. Shah gave instructions for immediate health check-up of all the affected families, education of children and binding of closed water motor in the village. Minister Dr. Shah instructed the district CEO that tea, water, snacks and meals of both the times should be made available to the victim families for a week.

Forest Minister Dr. Shah said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has sent me to wipe your tears because of the Vidhansabha. During this, CCF R.P. Rai and DFO Devanshu Shekhar along with officers of other departments were present.
