19 candidates withdrew their nomination papers

Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has said that as per the election schedule of Lok Sabha Elections-2024, 88 candidates will contest after the withdrawal of nomination papers filed for the first phase.

On Saturday, the last day of withdrawal of nominations, 19 candidates withdrew their nomination papers.

Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has said that after withdrawal of nomination papers on March 30, 17 candidates will contest in Sidhi Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency No. 11, 10 in Shahdol (ST) Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency No. 12, 19 in Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency No. 13 Jabalpur, 14 candidates in Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency No. 14 Mandla (ST), 13 candidates in Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency No. 15 Balaghat and 15 candidates in Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency No. 16 Chhindwara. The affidavits and other information of these candidates is available on Election Commission of India website link https://affidavit.eci.gov.in/. Voting for the first phase will take place on Friday, April 19. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.

It may be noted that 3 candidates have withdrawn their nomination papers in Parliamentary constituency Sidhi, 2 in Jabalpur, 2 in Mandla, 4 in Balaghat and 8 in Chhindwara.

Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has said that as per the election schedule of Lok Sabha Elections-2024, the process of filing nomination papers for the second phase is going on. In the second phase on Saturday, 7 candidates submitted their nomination papers. So far 8 candidates have filed nomination papers.

Chief Electoral Officer Rajan said that the affidavits and other information of the candidates who have filed nomination papers is available on the link of the Election Commission of India website https://affidavit.eci.gov.in/.

He said that the last date for filing nomination papers is April 4.

The nomination papers will be scrutinized the next day on April 5.

Candidates who have filed the nomination papers will be able to withdraw their names till April 8.

Voting for the second phase will be held on April 26. Counting of votes for all phases of voting will take place on June 4.
