Sanchari Vijay, a Kannada actor, died on Tuesday, a day after being rushed to a Bengaluru hospital following a car accident. He was 38 years old at the time. The youthful talent, who hails from Chikkamagaluru, debuted in Sandalwood with a supporting part in Ramesh Aravind and Sanjjanaa Galrani’s 2011 film Rangappa Hogbitna.

The comedy-drama was directed by ML Prasanna and focused on an elderly man who was ill. Sanchari also appeared in the 2011 film Rama Rama Raghu Rama, which was released in theatres. He gained notoriety for his efforts in the film Dasavala, which starred filmmaker Prem in the lead role.

This helped him land a lead role in Harivu, which he considers to be his “formal debut.”The film was inspired by a true story and focused on the effects of urbanization on the protagonist. It earned a lot of positive feedback and was nominated for a Karnataka State Award.

Sanchari also starred in Prakash Raj’s romantic comedy Oggarane, which was based on actor Lal’s Malayalam film Salt N’ Pepper. Un Samayal Arayil and Ulavacharu Biryani were the Tamil and Telugu versions, respectively.

Sanchari cemented his place in the industry by acting in the 2016 film Killing Veerappan, which starred Shivarajkumar in the lead role. Ram Gopal Varma made his Sandalwood debut with this film, which was a tremendous smash. “Very very disheartening to accept that Sanchari Vijay breathed his last.
